About David Rainoshek

My work focuses on helping people navigate existential burnout, belief-system transition, long-standing health challenges, and the psychological effects of digital saturation.

I am a Counsellor based in British Columbia whose work focuses on helping people navigate periods of uncertainty, transition, and psychological strain.

For more than twenty years, my professional work has involved supporting individuals dealing with complex health challenges, stress, and major life changes. Through this experience I became especially interested in the deeper questions people encounter when life no longer fits the structure that once guided them — questions about meaning, identity, belief, resilience, and direction.

Counselling offers a space to explore these questions thoughtfully and without pressure, helping people regain steadiness and clarity during difficult periods of change.

Professional Background

My professional background includes more than two decades of work supporting individuals facing significant life challenges, including long-term health concerns, stress, and major personal transitions.

Through this work I have seen how deeply people can struggle when the systems that once structured their lives — health, belief, career, or identity — begin to shift or break down.

My counselling approach combines careful listening, thoughtful questioning, and practical insight, helping clients examine their experiences more clearly and move toward a renewed sense of direction.

Training and Background

My background includes graduate-level training in nutrition and more than two decades of professional experience working with individuals facing significant health challenges and life transitions.

I am currently completing formal training in counselling and developing a practice focused on supporting people navigating existential burnout, religious transition, long-standing health challenges, and the psychological effects of digital saturation.

My work integrates careful listening, reflective dialogue, and practical strategies to help clients regain clarity and stability during periods of change.

Approach to Counselling

Counselling is not simply about solving immediate problems. It is also about creating the conditions for deeper understanding and meaningful change.

In my work I aim to provide a calm, thoughtful environment where clients can step back from the pressures of everyday life and examine their experiences with greater clarity.

This process often helps people recognize patterns, regain perspective, and begin rebuilding a sense of agency in areas where they previously felt stuck or overwhelmed.

Working Together

If you are navigating a difficult transition, experiencing burnout or uncertainty, or trying to make sense of a changing life situation, counselling can offer a supportive space to think clearly and move forward.

Blue Ocean Counselling offers online sessions for individuals across British Columbia.
